This weeks book is brought to you by little Q's Auntie Alice who gifted us this inspired piece of literature. Initially thought that it might be a bit long but its become a firm favourite in this household.
Basic plot: a bear finds a piano in the woods, gets really good, becomes famous.
The subtleties are what makes this book so beautiful and a book you want to return to again and again.
The illustrations seem to be a blend of print, drawn and digitally manipulated that creates an incredibly vivid world with amazing little details that keeps your eye always looking for more.
The characters are beautifully simple. It's hard to get that much expression so simply and this is a real success story.
The underlying message is sweet, sincere and not smooshed into your face so it leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy for being part of such a lovely ending rather than preached at.
Little Q and I find this a really lovely relaxing read, perfect for winding down at bedtime and sets you up for a lovely goodnight cuddle.
